RESVERATROL IS A CHEMICAL COMPOUND:Resveratrol is a phytoalexin produced by several plants that is sold as a nutritional supplement. It has also been produced by chemical synthesis. Resveratrol is a chemical compound found in plants. Its called a phytoalexin because plants naturally produce it as an antibiotic substance to fight both bacteria and fungi. Plants containing resveratrol include the grapes and skins of grapes that produce wine, raspberries, mulberries, blueberries. Resveratrol can also be found in peanuts, pine trees and in knotweed.
Resveratrol may also have anti-aging properties which has caused the substance, usually derived from Japanese knotweed and marketed as a nutritional supplement.
RESVERATROL PRODUCES IN PLANTS:
Resveratrol is produced also in plants during the time of stress, such as adverse weather or ecological attack. It's been identified in numerous plant species, including mulberries, peanuts, and grapes. Resveratrol is not found in the flesh but in the skin of grapes. Which stays in contact with the skins much longer than white or Rose wines.
RESVERATROL SUPPLEMENT:
Resveratrol is also available as a nutritional supplement but not as a therapeutic agent (although it has been registered as an investigational drug in some jurisdictions). Supplements, first sourced from ground dried muscadine and red grape skins and seeds (sometimes from residual byproducts of winemaking), are now primarily derived from the cheaper, more concentrated Japanese knotweed. Capsules are sold containing from 1 mg to over 40 mg of Resveratrol. A less common form is packets of powder, which might be more convenient for frequent ingestion as suggested by the rapid metabolism in the body. One company offered 500 mg capsules of Polygonum Cuspidatum extract which contain 250mg of Resveratrol in 2006; In 2007 a new company started offering 1000mg capsules of Polygonum Cuspidatum which contain 500mg of Resveratrol.; 4 pills of this would approach the dose per Kg for a 200lb person in relation to the amount used in experiments on mice.
RESVERATROL SYNERGY:
Resveratrol Synergy contains the biologically active flavonoid resveratrol, plus catechins (green tea), anthocyanins (grape skin) and proanthocyanins (OPCs from grape seed).
Resveratrol (3,4,5-trihydroxystilbene), extracted from Huzhang (“tiger cane”) root, protects cardiovascular function by promoting circulation. Green Tea contains flavans, Grape Seed OPCs are flavanols (condensed flavans), and Grape Skin contains anthocyanins. These synergistic plant extracts spare vitamin C and protect capillaries.
RESVERATROL-50:
Resveratrol-50 - A dietary supplement to support cardiovascular function. Resveratrol is a polyphenol, a natural antioxidant, which is found in grape skins and other plants. As an antioxidant, Resveratrol helps protect against harmful oxidation reactions, supports the immune system and may stimulate the proliferation of bone-building cells.
